Tears through the thickest coatings, heavy industrial mastic, multi-layer epoxy overlays, severe surface deformities, and badly damaged or contaminated slabs that need significant material removed before a normal grinding sequence can begin.

- Single-segment configuration for maximum cutting speed — a single segment per shoe creates less surface contact than a double, which means faster cutting speed and more aggressive material removal at the trade-off of shorter tool life. At 6 grit specifically, the goal is speed, not longevity — this is a tool you run hard, replace, and accept the cost as the price of getting through tough prep fast.

- Engineered for soft concrete — soft concrete (typically under 2,500 PSI, Mohs 3–4) is highly abrasive and wears diamonds out fast. The black color code in Simiron's Elite range designates a hard metal bond, which holds the diamonds in place longer to give usable tool life on an abrasive slab.

- Leaves a deep scratch pattern by design — at 6 grit, expect visible groove lines, exposed aggregate, and a rough surface. That's the point. After this pass, the progression must step up through 16, 25, 40, 80, and 100-grit metals before transitioning to resin pads. Skipping steps after a 6-grit cut will leave a scratch pattern that resin pads cannot remove.
